Funeral directors in Salisbury
Our Salisbury office is at 1 Stephenson Road, on the Churchfields estate off the Wilton road — a few minutes from the city centre, with somewhere to park right outside.
We see families here by appointment. That isn't a formality: it means that when you come, the time is yours. Nobody else is waiting, the phone isn't going, and you can take as long as you need over decisions that deserve more than twenty minutes.
If you need us now
Someone answers at any hour of the day or night, every day of the year. It will be one of us — Lucy or Denice during the day, and Alan at night — not an answering service passing on a message.
If someone has died at home, or in a care home or hospital, ring and we'll explain what happens next. There is nothing you need to have ready and nothing you need to know beforehand.
Coming to see us
Ring or email and we'll arrange a time — mornings, afternoons, or later if that suits you better.
Churchfields isn't the high street, and we know that. What it gives us is room, quiet, and parking at the door, which on a difficult day matters more than a shop window does.
There is a chapel of rest here too, though most families choose to visit at Amesbury. The office isn't staffed day to day — it's opened for appointments — which is why we ask you to ring first.
The area we cover
We have looked after families across Salisbury and the villages around it for over a hundred years. We're independent, and we've never been part of a national group — the person who answers the phone is the person who'll arrange the funeral, and you'll see the same faces from the first conversation to the last.
Where funerals take place
We arrange services at Salisbury Crematorium, Charlton Park Crematorium in Andover and Basingstoke Crematorium, at churches and chapels across the area, and at cemeteries and natural burial grounds throughout Wiltshire and Hampshire, including Michael Wood Natural Burial Ground.
If the person who died had a particular church, a particular village, or a particular wish, start there and we'll work out the rest.
Flowers, memorials and the day itself
We work with people we trust locally rather than doing everything in-house — Salisbury Flower Shed for flowers, and Spire Memorials for memorial masonry. We'll also point you towards caterers for the gathering afterwards if that would help.
There's no obligation to use any of them. If you'd rather arrange those things yourself, that's absolutely fine, and we'll fit around whatever you decide.
What it costs
Our full price list is published on this website, including our direct cremation at £1,595, and you're welcome to read it before you contact us at all.
