Accessibility
People come to this website on the worst days of their lives, often on a phone, often at night. It has to work for everyone.
What we've done
- Text is set at a larger size than most websites and can be enlarged further in your browser without breaking the layout.
- Every colour combination used for text meets the WCAG 2.2 AA contrast standard.
- The site can be used entirely from a keyboard, and the element you're on is always visibly highlighted.
- Headings, landmarks and form labels are marked up so screen readers can navigate the pages and fill in the forms.
- There is almost no movement on the site, and what there is switches off if your device is set to reduce motion.
- Phone numbers are links, so on a phone one tap dials.
- Nothing requires JavaScript: the menu, the forms and the enquiry page all work with it turned off.
Known limitations
Our price documents are also published as PDFs, which some screen readers handle poorly. That's why the same figures appear as ordinary text on the prices page. Street View and maps are Google's and load only when you ask for them; the address and directions are always available as text alongside.
If something isn't working for you
Tell us. Ring 01980 623204 or email amesbury@wcase.co.uk, and we'll read you anything on the site over the phone or send it in another format. We'll also fix the problem.
